DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS
"Diabolicanos: Act III Armageddon "
This five some from Poland really surprises me; at first I was appalled by what was thrown into my lap, but after several listening sessions I became more enthusiastic This band is somewhat similar to Dimmu Borgir; powerful black metal combined with epic sounds, besides this grunts are frequently exchanged with clean singing.
There are some things worth to mention; a couple of songs contain fearfully laughing men, monsters and rattling chains. All tracks are fairly lengthy; some songs are like seven or eight minutes. The guitars are technically very impressive but it looks like the drummer can't play that fast. Also remarkable are the grunts; in the first part of the album it sounds like the singer is gasping for air but later he improves himself and things go uphill.
I've listen to two samples of their first album 'Plurima Mortis Imoga' on the Myspace of the band. It gives a minimal impression, maybe too little comparison material but the new album sounds more professional and less chaotic. On their way to maturity is a good explanation of this album. To promote their former album, Devilish Impressions visited a lot of foreign countries, I hope they will come over to our country. For sure a welcome addition for the world that is called black metal.
