"Simulacra" album cover art nearly done |
29.11.2011 |
Quazarre regarding the artwork for the "Simulacra" album:
"Hey devils! Just to let you know we're nearly done with the new album's cover art. I'm really excited we've finally managed to find an appropriate vision of the album's lyrical concept and just can't wait to see its final version. Simulacra is full of symbolic thoughts and ideas that may easily be taken on from a hell of a different perspectives, leaving room for your own interpretation...
Enough to say, Xaay has perfectly understood our concept, therefore it all goes pretty smoothly. I believe we'll soon be able to give you something that's pretty unique on all possible levels."
The "Simulacra" album, feat. guest appearance of Orion (BEHEMOTH, VESANIA), Flumen (ASGAARD), Lestath (METransmissionAL), Roman Bereznicki (LECTER) and Jacek Grecki (LOST SOUL) with an artwork being created by Xaay (NILE, KAMELOT, VADER, BEHEMOTH) is scheduled to be released in Poland on the first months of 2012 via Icaros Records.
It has still not been confirmed which label's going to release it worldwide.

"Simulacra" artwork being done by Xaay (Nile, Kamelot, Behemoth) |
17.11.2011 |
There's been a little setback on the graphics front due to unforeseen circumstances. We can now confirm the "Simulacra" album cover art and its layout are currently being done by Michal "Xaay" Loranc, known from his works for Nile, Behemoth, Kamelot, Decapitated, Vader and Necrophagist among others.
New artwork is gonna surprise all listeners who are familiar with the band. We are preparing a cover which has completely different vibe than the former ones. You can expect an eclectic form and a high contrasts, more common to the other music genres – comments Xaay.
Just as the band's new photo session taken by Kamil Kumpin, the "Simulacra" artwork is set to be an alternative to the most of black/death metal productions around.
We're really excited to work on that with an artist of such class. I know it's been ages since we started the whole "Simulacra" journey, yet believe me, putting so much into it so far, had only made us sure we've got to do absolutely everything, so the final result could be truly outstanding – adds Devilish Impressions mainman, Quazarre.
The "Simulacra" album, feat. guest appearance of Orion (BEHEMOTH, VESANIA), Flumen (ASGAARD), Lestath (METransmissionAL), Roman Bereznicki (LECTER) and Jacek Grecki (LOST SOUL) is scheduled to be released in Poland on the first months of 2012 via Icaros Records. It has still not been confirmed which label's going to release it worldwide.

Orion (BEHEMOTH, VESANIA) & Jacek Grecki (LOST SOUL) among the special guests on the "Simulacra" album |
02.11.2011 |
Yeap, that's right, folks! While Jacek has done an amazing lead on "Vi Veri Vniversum Vivus Vici", Orion took over parts of Mephistophilis on "Prince of The East", entirely based on "The Tragical History of Dr Faustus - 1604" by Christopher Marlowe - comments the band's mainman, Quazarre. Since "Prince of The East" cannot be considered a regular track, it will most likely land on the special, extended version of the album.
Other guests that appear on the album are: Flumen (ASGAARD) and Lestath (METransmissionAL) - both responsible for all orchestrations, samples and additional effects. Roman Bereznicki (LECTER) is the last one who left his mark on the album by adding some bass guitar on one of the tracks as well as parts of acoustic guitar on two others.
Just to remind you, the "Simulacra" album, recorded, mixed and mastered at different places in 2010/2011 (Strobo Studio, Studio X and Hertz Studio) is scheduled to be released in Poland on the first months of 2012 via Icaros Records. Since the band's still working on the new album's covert art / graphics it has still not been confirmed which label's going to release it worldwide.

Devilish Impressions on the "Simulacra" photo shoot |
25.08.2011 |
Devilish Impressions is back from the photo shoot for the "Simulacra" album. The session took place in Gdynia with Kamil Kumpin behind the camera. As informed earlier, he's also the one who's gonna do artworks and graphics for the new opus.
"I must admit this was undoubtedly the best one we've had in the entire band's career and its final effect just simply surpassed our expectations towards it. We wanted to present ourselves slightly different than most of the black/death metal bands do these days. Don't actually know whether you're gonna like it or not but we just didn't want to duplicate ideas that have already been done. I can only say you'll be fucking surprised when you finally get to see it. On behalf of the band I would also love to send massive thanks to Kamil, Ewa, Magda, Marta and Tomek who worked their asses off in helping us out to run it smoothly" - comments Quazarre.
Currently, works are in progress on the upcoming album's graphics, layout and design. Check back soon to see the "behind the Simulacra photo session" pics. The band is also planning to publish yet another part of Simulacra Studio Diary. Keep your eyes wide open! |

Details on the "SIMULACRA" album photo shoot!!! |
08.08.2011 |
In two days time the band will be heading up to Gdansk (Poland) for the "Simulacra" album photo shoot. Pictures are to be taken by Kamil Kumpin. He's also the one the band has chosen to work with on the new album's front cover and all the graphics.
Over the last few weeks we've been planning themes that will most likely land on the upcoming album's cover art so we've also got a certain idea on how the session is suppose to look like. New outfits, new ideas, new energy - I believe all these factors will make the session pretty unique and as intriguing as the "Simulacra" music is - comments Quazarre.
The "Simulacra" album will be out in Poland late Autumn this year on Icaros Records. So far it has not been decided who's going to release the album abroad.

NEW ALBUM'S TITLE REVEALED |
08.05.2011 |
"Simulacra" has been chosen for a title of Devilish Impressions' latest opus.
The recording process of "Simulacra" started in July last year, when the band entered Strobo Studio in order to lay down all guitars' tracks. Once done with that, drums had been recorded at Hertz Studio, synthesizers at home studios of Lestath (ex-Sammath Naur) and Flumen (Asgaard), and vocals at Studio X later on. The material eventually got back to Wieslawscy Brothers at Hertz Studio who took over guitars' re-amping, as well as the whole album's mixing and mastering.
"We've really worked our asses off just to make sure everything sounds the way we wanted. Since we'd tried to be as much precise as possible, it obviously took ages to have it done yet I believe it's been worth waiting. The new opus may easily be called a quintessence of what's best in all we'd done so far. It's still extreme in parts, yet at the same time never had our songs been so epic and majestic, nor they had this kind of groove and feeling... "Simulacra" is definitely the one we'd call the band's opus magnum!" - comments Devilish Impressions' mainman, Quazarre.
Third part of the "Studio Diary" video report is in the making and will be posted online along with the promotional track from the "Simulacra" album very soon! |

BREAKING THE SILENCE! |
17.02.2011 |
Sorry for not being able to keep you successively posted. We are not gonna bother you with details on what caused such long delay. Enough to say that Fabian Filiks won’t be taking care of the band’s pages anymore.
„This doesn’t mean we won’t be working together on other projects or maybe even partly on this one in the future. He simply can not fully commit himself to the band’s work these days. I’m really glad though, we’ve had an opportunity to work with such talented artist and – on the other hand – with someone of this kind of personality over the last 6 years. We’ve always had this fantastic way of understanding each other, and I’m sure there still is a lot to be done together:-) All of us in Devilish Impressions would like to send massive thanks to him for all the time and passion he had contributed into the band’s life and its success. Hope the future keeps all the best for you, my friend!!!”- comments Devilish Impressions’ mainman, Quazarre.
Just to remind you, Fabian Filiks (under many nicknames and by Via-Nocturna and Studio XIII) was not only responsible for Devilish Impressions’ internet pages. He’d also created cover arts and the whole layout / design of the booklets for both „Plurima Mortis Imago” and „Diabolicanos – Act III: Armageddon” albums.
From now on all of Devilish Impressions’ internet profiles such us webpage, myspace, youtube, facebook and so on will be run on behalf of the band by Darnok.
In other news, the band’s new opus – a follow-up to the critically acclaimed „Diabolicanos” album is nearly done! More hot news to follow very soon!!!

CHANGES IN THE RECORDING SESSION'S SCHEDULE. |
25.11.2010 |
This is to let you know Devilish Impressions had changed their plans towards the further part of their new album’s recording session. Instead of working on a whole material at Studio X the band decided to lay down just the vocal tracks out there. The rest of the job, namely – guitars’ reamping, mixing and mastering will be done by Slawek and Wojtek Wieslawscy at Hertz Studio.
„This is not to say Szymon Czech of Studio X is not good enough to produce the album properly” – explains Devilish Impressions mainman, Quazarre. „We’d worked with him on a ‘Diabolicanos’ album and the final effect just surpassed our expectations towards the sound we wanted to achieve. It is just that, when recording the drums at Hertz Studio, Wieslawscy brothers got really into the new stuff and they came up with this offer, that they’d really love to produce the entire album. We’d then been thinking it all over and decided to give it a go eventually, just to try out different option than the one we’d already tried in the past. That’s it! I once again, on behalf of others at Devilish Impressions, would without any hesitate recommend Szymon as a guy to work with on any kind of a musical projects” – continues Quazarre.
Parts of the synthesizers are currently being composed / recorded at home studios of Peter ‘Lestath’ Leszczynski (ex-Sammath Naur) and Wojtek ‘Flumen’ Kostrzewa (Asgaard). On the other hand, Quazarre within a few days will be heading to Studio X in order to lay down all the vocals’ tracks.
The third part of a Studio Diary, showing the drums and bass recording sessions will be published soon. It’s also time to reveal there will be very special guests appearance on the album. Check back for more news soon!

FURTHER DETAILS ON THE NEW ALBUM!
DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS ENTERS HERTZ STUDIO! |
24.08.2010 |
Quazarre checks in from Strobo Studio (Opole, PL) where Devilish Impressions had recently been working on the guitars’ tracks for the upcoming album. As informed earlier, the guitars will be later re-amped by Szymon Czech at Studio X (Olsztyn, PL):
„Hey Devils! First step of the new album’s recording session is over. We’ve finally laid down all the guitars and just can’t wait to see how it goes along with other instruments. For some reasons it took us a bit longer than expected yet believe me, every single minute spent on that was truly worth it. For the first time ever in the band’s career we’ve used real accoustic guitars and it just surpassed our expectations towards the sound we achieved. I was honoured to work on all that with Roman Bereznicki, the old friend of mine who actually was the first bassist I used to play with back in 1994-1997. While working together now we came up with the idea of recording one of the songs we composed back then, so don’t be surprised if it ends up on the new album as a bonus track...”
Devilish Impressions will soon enter HERTZ Studio (Bialystok, PL; BEHEMOTH, DECAPITATED, VADER etc.) in order to record the drums. Soon after that Vraath – new band’s member – will lay down parts of bass guitar at Strobo Studio.
The new album is a follow up to the critically acclaimed „Diabolicanos – Act III: Armageddon” album. 2nd part of Studio Diary video report is in the making and will be online within a few days so keep your eyes wide open! |

FIRST DETAILS ON THE NEW ALBUM’S RECORDING SESSION!
22.07.2010 |
Devilish Impressions is currently in studio tracking guitars for the successor of the critically acclaimed „Diabolicanos – Act III: Armageddon” album.
This time the band had chosen slighlty differrent way of recording. All the guitars’ tracks are being laid down with the assistance of Roman Bereznicki (ZBERNY3000, Dr. LECTER) at Strobo Studio (Opole, PL) and will be then re-amped at Studio X (Olsztyn, PL) – the same place where the band had worked on a previous album.
Parts of synthesizers will be recorded by Flumen (ASGAARD) at his home studio in Warsaw and by Peter „Lestath” Leszczynski (ex- SAMMATH NAUR) in Bydgoszcz.
„Someone may ask, why had we decided to work on parts of synths with two different artists at the same time… You know why?... Cause we want this album to be something really unique on all possible levels! This will allow us two look at the new songs from various perspectives in order to avoid using the same sort of solutions or arangements” - explains Devilish Impressions’ mainman – Quazarre.
More details on the recording process will be revealed later. Check back soon for the next part of Studio Diary video report!!!

WARNING! - DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS' new line-up revealed! |
11.01.2010 |
It's been quite a while since we've posted some news down here... Wonder why?... Simply because there wasn't really much to write about. Over the last year the band had been going through some shitty things such as tours' cancellations as well as subsequent line-up changes. It's time to announce now not only Cultus but also Turquoissa is no longer a part of Devilish Impressions. It has to be said, her commitment to the band's crusade was never a question yet for certain reasons it just wouldn't have worked that way any longer. Handling the bass duties was given to VRAATH while the synthesizers will be taken over by Quazarre in co-operation with other artists... Present line-up as follow: Quazarre - vocals/guitar/synth, Armers - guitar, Vraath - bass, Icanraz - drums...

UNLEASHED / KRISIUN / DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS CANCELLED!!! |
24.09.2008 |
The UK’s leg of UNLEASHED / KRISIUN European tour DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS was supposed to take part in has recently been cancelled due to the reasons beyond the band’s control. “We were really looking forward to playing these shows not only because of a great company but also because there are many maniacs over there who would send us dozens of emails asking when are we going to invade their land again... Well, please note we have nothing to do with the gigs cancellation and we shall definitely be back at the earliest occasion. Our next European tour is slowly shaping up and we really hope there will be some dates for the UK and Ireland too.” (Quazarre)
